Biography

Rebecca Lansing, received her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University and Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Simpson College. An avid performer of opera, concert music, and musical theatre, Rebecca has performed the title role in The Merry Widow, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Micaëla in La tragédie de Carmen (LSU Opera), Pamina in The Magic Flute, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, and Yum Yum in The Mikado. As a professional soloist, Rebecca has appeared as the soprano soloist for Mozart’s Requiem Mass, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Handel’s Messiah, Vaughan William’s Dona nobis pacem, and Mozart’s Litaniae Laurentanae. In addition to her operatic work, Rebecca can frequently be seen performing musical theatre and as a Jazz vocalist. Some of her favorite roles performed are Eponine in Les Miserables and Nelly Forbush in South Pacific. Rebecca also performs with the group JazzQ, singing jazz, pop and rock hits.

Rebecca has served on the faculty of Clarke University, Northeast Iowa School of Music and Loras College. Rebecca has been a proud voice teacher for over 10 years and her students have achieved numerous awards at NATS competitions, State Solo and Ensemble, All-State and Access Broadway competitions. With a background in early education, Rebecca loves to bring song, dance and silliness to the families of Dubuque through her Mini Musicians classes. Kid-tested by her own 4 children, Rebecca holds classes at Northeast Iowa School of Music, early childhood centers and performs concerts for children locally.
